Sorry I haven't blogged in a while. This time, it's not that I'm depressed. I've just been bogged down with school work - a lot of homework and exams.
Lately, I've been feeling pretty good, though. The weather is getting warmer and the sun is shining brighter in the sky and this definitely effects my mood for the better.
In fact, it's been shown that the sun boosts levels of serotonin (a feel-good chemical) in the brain. According to WebMd, "Resarchers found that regardless of the season, the turnover of serotonin in the brain was affected by the amount of sunlight on any given day. And the levels of serotonin were higher on bright days than on overcast or cloudy ones." This I'm sure is no surprise.
So, now that the weather is taking a turn for the better, and the days are sunnier, get out and enjoy it! Soak up some healthy amounts of sun and enjoy the mental health boost!
